The spirit of giving, and especially to those who need our care and attention the most, is what brings the genuine of heart to homes for the underprivileged (old age homes, homes for the disabled or diseased). Volunteers with a genuine wish to help, donated items of daily needs and shared joyous moments with them by organizing a fun filled New year event for them.Volunteers also realized they weren't the only people visiting these homes, and that it was important to respect the privacy of the inmates and try to maintain a long-term association with them so that we would be more than just visiting strangers to them.

In the process, volunteers also learnt that for a child's psychological well-being, it's necessary to maintain a long-term relationship with them. Sudden visits from strangers lowers the child's privacy in their home and impairs their social development since they begin showing indiscriminate affection to strangers. We also learnt that it's necessary for us to spend time to understand what the need of the home is and donate what they want, rather than what we feel would be good to donate.
